Global Entrepreneurship Network Uganda shared a spotlight on Canine Safaris Ltd, a licensed tour operator led by Devin Itaagi, and its platform Quest. The company was a Top Ten finalist at the GEC+ Uganda 2026 national competition. Read the spotlight on LinkedIn (opens in a new tab).
The problem Quest solves
As the spotlight describes it, African tour operators can spend hours building a single accurate multi-day itinerary out of rate sheets, folders and spreadsheets. Quest is a B2B travel-planning platform for the African safari industry that brings lodge rates, park fees and transport costs together, so operators can prepare costed itineraries more efficiently.
Built for safari, not adapted to it
The post says Quest is purpose-built for safari businesses rather than adapted from generic travel software. That shows in the details: nationality-based park fees, seasonal rates, vehicle and fuel based transport and dollar and shilling handling.
Traction and exposure
- According to the company's finalist profile, Quest has been tested with 164 businesses.
- The company reports exhibiting at GITEX Africa, GITEX Global and the COMEUP Global Startups Festival.
Why industry knowledge matters
One takeaway from the post is that deep knowledge of an industry is a competitive advantage when digitising a traditional sector. Strong products start from users' workflows, costs and frustrations, not from technology alone. That is how Quest has been built, working alongside operators such as K&G Tours and Travel.
